WHAT WE DO:
We empower vulnerable populations to “eat forever” by providing 3 types of support:
The first is in education and Female Genital Mutilation preventions endeavors. We also offer micro-economic business support to local schools and orphanages to fund school fees and nutrition needs for young students ages 5-18. These businesses include livestock and agricultural business that not only pays school fees for needy children, but also provides food for the children served in these schools and orphanages.
These business ventures and the dispersion of almost 1000 reusable sanitary pads to young women, single mothers and female teachers support education as well as the prevention of Female Genital Mutilation. As young women receive educations, they are placed in a better financial, emotional and physical position to refuse the practice of Female Genital Mutilation.
Not only are small business endeavors supported at schools and orphanages, but also to vulnerable populations such as communities of women with husbands who have abandoned them. We supply women with items like chickens, goats, sewing machine and nut grinding machines, allowing them to become self-sufficient and provide for their families.
And lastly we provide trainings. These trainings include topics such as mental health, business, community support and resource discovery and use.
Thanks to the support of American businesses, youth and volunteers, we have provided trainings to over 1500 individuals. We are also planning to provide over 400 reusable sanitary pad in September in addition to the 350 already provided in April.
The communities of America reaching out to communities of Africa have brought blessings, hope and validation to many suffering populations. Thank you for all they do and thank you for all you do to bring hope and healing to the world. We cannot change the world without you!
